7 Reasons Patients Love Invisalign®
Our Bowie dental office loves Invisalign® — and not just us, but our patients, too. Invisalign® is such an incredible way to straighten your teeth and transform your smile. This treatment is becoming more and more popular, and it is easy to see why.
Here Are 7 Reasons Patients Love Invisalign®
#1 - The aligners are clear.
Unlike metal braces that require a metal bracket on each tooth and for us to thread a metal wire between them, there is no metal in your aligners. The aligners consist of durable and comfortable plastic that is virtually invisible.
#2 - You can see immediate results.
Not only is the process discreet, but what you will see is an improvement. Rather than being distracted by braces, you will see visible improvements to your teeth. As the aligners begin to move them, your smile will be improved, meaning you can benefit from changes right away.
#3 - They are comfortable.
Most people experience some initial soreness when they first put on their aligners. Since patients need to switch out the aligners every couple of weeks, there may be a day of soreness every two weeks. However, they are otherwise incredibly comfortable. Since the aligners consist of smooth plastic, there is nothing abrasive to rub the inside of your cheeks or lips.
#4 - You can eat whatever you want.
Patients remove the aligners whenever they eat. Thus, patients can eat whatever they like at mealtime. If you want to bite into a juicy burger, go ahead. If you want to eat crunchy vegetables, you can. There are no restrictions other than trying to make healthy choices in general.
#5 - It is easy to brush your teeth.
When wearing braces, you have to use special flossing and cleaning tools. It takes much longer to clean teeth with braces on. With Invisalign® aligners, the process is the same as if you were not using orthodontics. Take the aligners out, brush and floss, rinse your aligners and put them back in.
#6 - You can take them out to have fun.
One of the biggest challenges with undergoing an orthodontic treatment is that you are stuck with it. If something comes up like a friend's wedding, you cannot take your braces off. They will be in the pictures regardless. This is not the case with Invisalign®. You can take your aligners out when you need to, making this the most flexible of orthodontic treatments that you can try. Just remember to put the aligners back in as soon as you can, so your treatment time is not delayed.
#7 - Fewer appointments
Since you can switch out your aligners at home, you do not need to visit the orthodontist as frequently as you would if wearing braces.
If you want an easy, attractive, and convenient way to straighten your teeth, we encourage you to call us (301) 485-7492 and visit our dental office in Bowie to discuss Invisalign® and find out if this procedure is right for you.
